Just replaced my lifters on the driver side of my 2013 GMC Sierra 1500. Yes it’s about time someone held GM accountable for their defective products camera not just because of the fact that they knew the defects beforehand and failed to issue any recalls. I’ve contacted the dealer, and they began an engine oil consumption test. Have replaced my valve cover already once it keeps blowing out the gaskets. Most comfortable vehicle I ever owned, great on mileage, and never has any problems pulling my 30 ft trailer full and truck bed full with rear window up filled above the cab with mulch. 2013 equinox Chevy dealer in Omaha says GM will not cover blown engine do to timing belt malfunction { do to low oil ) No warnings from lights or gauges OR from General Motors. We just had a second lifter fail after replacing one two months ago. What can we do or does one need to do. status of any class action settlement claim. Any one that reads this should consider making it all cylinders all the time . Is there any lawsuit coved for this problem. Never missed a scheduled maintenance with it while sparing no expense. If Chevy/GMC can’t improve their technology on vehicles over a 20 year period then I see why these class action suits happen. It would be nice if gm would stand by their name and merchandise. Cause my catalytic converter to go bad and I was told that if I did not get my engine replaced that I would need yet another catalytic converter and in a month to a year. Timing chain and sprokets and cam sproket bolt needed to be replaced along with gaskets, balancer bolt, chain actuator and valve. 2010 c1500 Silverado truck, 69,000 miles. GM is well aware of this issue, but they’re doing everything in their power to not recall these engines – which frankly I find to be completely disrespectful to their loyal consumers such as myself. Oil level was full (always used synthetic) but sound persisted. I have a 2012 suburban 1500, truck just turned 90,000 miles and have always ran mobile 1 full synthetic and changed every 3-4 thousand miles. The mechanic told them that I had neglected to change the oil on my car and since I could only prove that I made 1 oil change in 2016, they said I was neglect. All scheduled service has been done at the dealership where vehicle was originally purchased. The dealership tried addressing the fouling of plugs and oil consumption with the extended warranty but they wont do anything to fix it under this extended warranty. To make a long story short, a car needs a proper amount of fuel in order for the fuel to burn properly in the combustion cylinders so that it may run smoothly and may accelerate as required. You said that you had to replace your lifters did it start on cylinder number for that is the second cylinder back on the passenger side of the vehicle I have looked it up on YouTube and on Google search and everyone I have found as the same knock and cylinder for I am currently in the process of pulling the heads off and redoing I went to pull the lifter out in the pain is coming out of the lifter and I cannot get the lifter out so now I am going to have to buy a whole new engine to fix the problem that GM has caused. The same auto repair shop every time. I continue to use my truck it has 190000 on it now but still burns oil. Since then, I’ve had to change spark plugs every 6-8,000 miles.
